This is an extremely durable bumper dummy (with proper use, see note below), which is perfect for training Hunting Dogs, Duck Dogs, Bird Dogs, and all retrieving Gundogs. It has raised bumps all over to get the dog used to uneven surfaces in its mouth, and scent is easily applied to the PVC exterior. These dummies are designed to float in the water and won’t sink, allowing for an easy retrieve.
To enable you to throw this dummy a considerable distance, it has a strong rope attached as part of the dummy itself.
The dummy is hollow but durable as it is made from PVC plastic.
Available in Orange or Black and White. Size options in both colours include the following approximate measurements:
- 5.08 cm (2 inches) diameter x 27 cm long at 190 grams; or
- 7.62 cm (3 inches) diameter x 28 cm long at 390 grams.
This is the perfect dummy for all dogs that enjoy running, chasing, and retrieving. It is especially beneficial for bird dogs learning how to retrieve, including Labradors, Pointers, Cocker Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Golden Retrievers, and other gundogs.
PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a chew toy and should not be left with your dog unsupervised, otherwise chewing may ruin this training aid and may encourage undesirable behaviours in your gundog such as developing a hard mouth. Whilst durable, this dummy can puncture / split if bitten down on too hard. If you notice your dog biting the dummy, take it away from the dog and reassess the training drill as it may not be ready for retrieving and may need more ‘hold’ work. The dummy should be held in the dog’s mouth with very little pressure and a soft mouth. If the dummy becomes punctured, water may get inside and the dummy may no longer float. Dummies that have bite damage cannot be returned nor refunded as this is not considered a product fault but improper use.
