GUN DOG GEAR NEOPRENE WETSUIT VEST
If your gundog is retrieving game in water, you need this vest!
It is made of 5mm thick neoprene (wetsuit material), so ideal for gundogs retrieving in cold water and sitting in blinds during the colder months. The vest helps to keep your dog’s vital organs warmer than if they weren’t wearing anything, as it covers the majority of their back and chest. Many similar dog wetsuit vests are made from only 3mm thick neoprene, whereas the Gundog Gear Neoprene Gundog Wetsuit Vest offers more warmth as it is 5mm thick which can make a world of difference in cold lakes and swamps.
Further to this, our dog wetsuit vest is equiped with 2 x foam floatation pads along each side of the back. Each foam panel is 5mm thick x 30cm long x 6cm wide and made from Polyethylene (PE) foam. This assists the dog with a higher level of buoyancy than other vests on the market without these floatation features. An additional benefit to the PE foam is that it is mould and mildew resistant which is important given these vests are designed for frequent water use.
The chest area is reinforced with an additional neoprene layer to provide more padding and protection for the vest from being worn down due to abrasion and rubbing on rough surfaces over time, thereby extending its longevity.
The neoprene material is flexible so provides for a comfortable fit and comes with a heavy-duty handle on the back reinforced with heavy duty nylon webbing to make it easier to pull the dog out of the swamp and into the boat to complete the retrieve.
It is also equipped with a heavy-duty zipper (much like on a human wetsuit) with durable Velcro to cover the zipper and around the collar to provide some neck/shoulder size adjustment if needed.
This vest comes in a swamp grass camouflage design and colour, so that the dog blends into the environment and not spook game. It is an essential piece of equipment for any bird dog retrieving game in water.
